Organic Kelp

Viridian’s Soil Association certified organic, wild harvested kelp is raised and harvested from the west coast of Ireland and Northern Iceland, using sustainable methods. The seaweed is free of contaminants, toxic metals and microbial pathogens, irradiation, GMOs, manufacturing excipients, wheat, dairy, gluten and other known allergens.

The kelp is harvested by hand and is cut (not dredged) at a level above the seabed that ensures marine life is not adversely affected. Subsequently, only the fresh kelp fronds that float to the surface are collected ensuring that the fresh seaweed is free from contamination.

Seaweed generally is known for its nutrient density. Kelp in particular is rich in phytonutrients and is also a rich source of minerals and protein. From this spectrum, each Viridian capsule has been standardised to provide 200mcg of iodine.

Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function. This in turn helps keep cells and the metabolic rate healthy. As iodine is usually found in sea fish and shellfish, this supplement is a convenient and vegan-friendly way to increase your daily intake.
