Viridian’s ApplePhenon is extracted from unripe green apples along the Silk roads in Central Asia. Along the Silk Roads, seeds were scattered along the land and cross pollinated with other species of apples creating the ‘Wild Green Apples’.
Could I just eat any apple to get the same effect?
ApplePhenon is standardised to 70% of total polyphenols, which makes the supplement a high potency formulation. The apples are harvested at just the right point which allows for the highest possible potency.
The polyphenols are extracted using a proprietary gentle water extraction process, the natural extract preserves the highest concentration of apple polyphenols, strong antioxidant activity and an optimized profile of proanthocyanidins. Whole apples are not standardised to polyphenols and the number of polyphenols in a food can vary depending on where the food is grown, therefore eating apples alone cannot guarantee a specific polyphenol content.
